Are LED fountain lights harmful to fish and other aquatic life?

No. Our lighting components are both weatherproof and waterproof and will not harm your fish once on the water. However, we recommend setting aside periods of darkness using your timers to ensure that your fish can adequately rest without disruption.

Can I use Matala lighting kits with other brands of fountains?

How much maintenance do fountain lights need?

LED lights for water fountains don't require excessive maintenance. You should periodically wipe the surfaces of your lights to maximise brightness, as they can become a little faded over time if left unchecked. You may also need to take into account seasonal timing adjustments to make sure they're turning on at the right moment throughout the whole year. And it's always worth checking your cabling for damage.

How long do LED fountain bulbs usually last?

Our Matala range is designed to be highly energy efficient. While the overall lifespan is dependent on the level of use, you could typically expect an LED light to last up to 50,000 hours.
